Bye Bye Doggy Door!

I have always appreciated my family, but I have to say that this move and their help makes me appreciate them even more! Remember that doggy door that the realtor had to almost climb through to get in the basement door? Yeah, time for that door to go! My dad and I hopped into the car and headed to Home Depot to pick up the door I had put on will call previously. Thankfully my dad is experienced with exterior door installations! While we were out, my mom donned her gardening hat and assisted Garrett in the dog pen with digging up some ferns and hostas since Sterling has taken a liking to eating them until he gets sick.

Dad and I got back just after they had finished and he, Cameron, and Garrett set to work on the door downstairs. I understood that replacing a door and frame would be some work, but my goodness it took a lot more time and effort than I anticipated! Thankfully the handymen in the family took care of it while my mom and I did some measurements and headed out to do some more shopping. It was quite the successful trip too! We managed to find baskets for the closets, curtains for the game room, master, and spare room, and a lot of other odds and ends that we needed. After a quick stop at Publix on the way back to the house, my mom and I made our way back to the house. With the exterior door installation a resounding success, we were all ready to dive in to some spaghetti for dinner! The men more so, I believe…

After a full day, they headed out once again with a few of the ferns mom and Garrett had dug up for transplanting into their yard. They look great in their new home!

Though a lot has been accomplished over the last few days, there is still a lot to go…and as exhausting as this adventure has been so far, we are definitely enjoying and cherishing every moment of it.
